Placing your bonus wager at BetMGM
All you have to do is make a bet of $10 or more. There are not any minimum or maximum odds restrictions. And while the bonus wager offer tops out at $1,500, you still can place a bet for over that amount. Only $1,500 of it will count toward the bonus should you lose the wager.
What happens if your bet loses
On the condition that your initial wager with BetMGM loses, you’ll receive one or five bonus bets equal in value to that of your losing bet.
Losing bets of $10-$49 receive one bonus bet worth 100% of the losing wager. While bets of $50 on up receive five bets, each one worth 20% of the losing wager.
- Example 1: You place and lose a $25 bet. You’ll receive one $25 bonus bet.
- Example 2: You place and lose a $500 bet. You’ll receive five $100 bonus bets.
What happens if your bet wins
You collect your proceeds and the bonus goes away. You can do whatever you want with your winnings — cash out, keep betting, etc.
Placing bonus bets at BetMGM
Your bonus bet credits expire seven days after being awarded at BetMGM, so obviously it is vital that you use them before that time. The other key is that the value of a bonus bet does not transfer over into your account if your wager with it wins, rather it simply disappears.
That means simply using your bonus bets on “sure things” to get your money back won’t work. For instance, if you used a $100 bonus bet on a bet with -500 odds, you’d only get $20 in return if you end up winning.
Is BetMGM’s welcome bonus better than DraftKings’ and FanDuel’s?

- Clunky betting experience at times: The BetMGM betslip is a tiny bit complicated to use occasionally, mainly when attempting to use a bonus bet or parlay booster. You’ll need to select your bets and then click on the yellow bar to use a reward. Much of the time this works well, but sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle to use your rewards. We also have experienced similar issues with DraftKings.
- Parlay plus promotion doesn’t pay out in cash: While the parlay plus promo at BetMGM is great in a lot of ways, it’s a bit of a letdown that instead of receiving cash boosts you just receive a bonus bet. That means you then have to win another bet and since you don’t get the bonus bet’s value back even the winnings on that wager will be somewhat suppressed.
- Not always the best odds boosts: Our final quibble is that every so often the boosted odds parlays, listed near the top of the screen, don’t always provide the best odds. At times odds will change and you’ll actually receive better odds creating the parlay on your own at BetMGM. We simply advise always checking to see which way you’ll get the superior odds.
What kind of bets can I make at BetMGM CT?

What’s the moneyline?
The moneyline is the odds for which team or player will win any given game or event. So, it is what you will use when you just want to bet on straight up winners.
Let’s look at our example to understand what the numbers mean. You can tell Tampa Bay is favored here because the Bucs are listed with a negative moneyline. Odds of -275 signify that you would need to bet $275 to win $100. On the other side, Dallas’ moneyline odds of +225 mean you only need to bet $100 to win $225.
How does point-spread betting work?
For spread betting, teams have points added or subtracted from their score. Assuming the team you wagered on is leading after the addition or subtraction, your bet will be a winner.
The spread on this game is 6.5, Tampa will have that many points removed from its score (-6.5) if you bet on the Bucs, while Dallas will have that many points added to its total (+6.5) if you bet on the Cowboys. If Tampa Bay wins the game 35-28, the Buccaneers also would cover the point spread because they won by more than 6.5 points.
Over/unders explained
Over/unders, or totals, are really easy to understand. The total for this game is listed at 51.5, if you think 52 points or greater will be scored by both teams you bet on the over, if you think 51 or less will be tallied you’d bet on the under.
In our fictional example, we said the Bucs will win, 35-28, that means wagers on the over would win because 35+28=63 and 63 is over 51.5.
Prop betting 101
BetMGM also has tons of prop bets available for all major sporting events. Prop bets are simply wagers on whether or not a specific event will occur during games.
For our example you could bet on Tom Brady to throw for at least two touchdowns, Mike Evans to have under 87.5 yards receiving, Dak Prescott to throw for more than 305.5 yards or the Cowboys to get shutout in the third quarter. The choices are quite extensive.
Intro to multi-betting: Parlays, teasers and round robins
Multi-betting lets you combine two bets or more together with the benefit being increased profits. Depending on the type of wager you make though multi-bets can be extremely difficult to win. Here’s a look at your options at BetMGM.
- Parlays: These are the most common multi-bets, simply group at least two bets together to create a parlay. To win a parlay all of the bets you pick must be correct.
- Teasers: Traditionally, teasers were created by making spread wagers for one sport and then moving the line for all your picks by the same amount. However, at BetMGM you can choose alternate lines for pretty much all contests. Because of this you will simply select the alternate lines you want and then create a parlay out of those wagers.
- Round robins: Here you must make a minimum of three bets, but unlike with parlays and teasers you do not need to get all of your picks right. That’s because round robins essentially create smaller parlay grouping from your bets. This gives you more leeway, but also limits your potential winnings.

BetMGM has tons of futures markets for most sports. Futures betting refers to bets you make on events much further out than just the upcoming game. Rather, you’ll bet on teams to win championships before seasons even begin. Live betting choices at BetMGM
When you click on the “Live” link at BetMGM, you’ll be shown all the games that have already started that you can bet on at that very second. With live, or in-play, wagering you can bet on everything from who will win to what will happen on the very next play or at bat of a game.
BetMGM offers game animations for most of the live betting options. But for some select events you actually will be able to watch live feeds of the contests. Due to streaming rights deals these events will almost always be for smaller events like minor tennis and soccer contests.
Live better works just like pre-game betting. The lone difference being that odds change constantly and by large amounts. For that reason you do not want to hesitate if you see a bet you want to make.
Can I bet on the Connecticut Sun at BetMGM?

How do I exclude myself from BetMGM?
