Connecticut casinos are gearing up for the 2021 holiday season in extraordinary ways throughout December. Both Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun will feature live concert performances, special holiday events, festive dining options, and holiday play promotions for the entire season.
Connecticut casino entertainment options abound
The holidays are bringing some noteworthy entertainment events to the Mohegan Sun Arena. Attendees can get into the holiday spirit with live Christmas music and festive cheer at these special performances.
Marie Osmond’s Magical Symphony Christmas happens on December 8 at Mohegan Sun Arena, and the Beach Boys will perform on New Year’s Eve. Other December Arena performances include Earth, Wind & Fire, and Howie Mandel.
Throughout December, Foxwood’s Great Cedar Showroom will also host Legends in Concert, featuring live tributes of favorite artists like Elvis, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Tina Turner, and Cher.
Foxwoods is also bringing in REO Speedwagon for the holidays, and they kick off the New Year with a January 1, 2022 show featuring George Thorogood and Rick Springfield.
Escape ice skate and holiday shop at CT casinos
After their successful Halloween-themed escape room, The Shops at Mohegan Sun has opened their Winter Wonderland Escape Room for festive team building and friendly fun. Participants must help the Sunshine Video employees get the stolen Naughty or Nice list back before Christmas Eve to escape the room.
Starting with their Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on December 4, Foxwoods Resort Casino has also geared up for the holidays with Holidays at Foxwoods. Ice skating is back at Foxwoods Rink and Winter Patio, where guests can skate among the festive décor or relax and eat in the warm, holiday-themed igloos.
Patrons can do some Christmas shopping at Foxwoods’ Tanger Outlets where Photos with Santa will be available through December 18. A Breakfast with Santa event will also be held at Foxwoods’ Cedars Steaks & Oysters on December 18 and 19, with more Santa photos available during the event.
Seasonal pay and play promotions mean big holiday play
The holiday season at CT casinos also means big play promotions and giveaways for patrons.
Mohegan Sun’s Holiday Marvels theme decorations are throughout The Shops, with their Blaze-N-Bells giveaway in full swing. When holiday guests spot Blaze, the WNBA Connecticut Sun’s mascot, hanging on any Holiday Marvels decor, they can take a photo with him and post it with a particular hashtag to enter the giveaway.
Foxwoods is also getting into the holiday spirit with their $100,000 Holiday Swipe + Win promotion through December 16. When rewards members swipe their card to play their favorite slots and games, they will also be registering to enter drawings for $500 weekly gift giveaways and the grand prize of $10,000 cash.
Christmas Day is the time for Foxwoods’ $30,000 Holiday Hunt Kiosk Game. Rewards members can swipe their cards at promotions kiosks for a chance to win a portion of the cash and prizes pot. Prizes include a shopping spree worth $5,000.

The holidays wouldn’t be complete without Christmas-themed food and drinks. That’s why Foxwoods dining offers special holiday-themed meals and events at its restaurants.
Christmas at Foxwoods’ Cedars Steak & Oysters runs through December 30, with the venue decked in holiday décor. The festive menu includes traditional specialties like duck breast, prime rib, and a seasonal charcuterie board.
The Golden Dragon offers a Christmas Menu for Two, including an appetizer platter, entrees, and sides of either lo mein or fried rice.
Mohegan Sun hosts their New Year’s Eve party, Let’s Glow 2022, on December 31 in its Uncas Ballroom. Music from DJ V Tech, dancing, an open bar, and a midnight champagne toast promise to make this a hotspot NYE party for 2021.
