Connecticut online casinos and online sportsbooks have cleared their final regulatory hurdles and every eligible person can use the platforms. At 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, the state gave the authorization for the three sports betting apps and two online casino products to start doing business in the Nutmeg State.

All that’s left for Connecticut residents and visitors to do now is get the apps, sign up, and make their plays. The full launch comes at a great time, as the state continues to work out the landscape of in-person gambling.

Connecticut online casinos and online sportsbooks pass muster

The soft launch for online gaming that began Oct. 12 is now over. During that time, Connecticut online gambling companies had to restrict the number of offerings on their casino platforms and limit signups to 750 each.

Those restrictions are now a thing of the past.

If you’re at least 21 years of age and don’t participate in any gambling self-exclusion programs in the state, you’re free to sign up for DraftKings Casino and Mohegan Sun Casino now.

Among your online sports betting options are:

Should you already have accounts with FanDuel or DraftKings, you can simply sign in with your existing credentials.

However, if you are currently an existing BetRivers/SugarHouse customer, you will need to create a new account to wager in Connecticut. The Lottery will deploy a separate app for CT customers shortly.

If you’re new to all or any of them, however, it’s nothing to fear. You can register for an account in just a few moments with your phone or tablet.

How to sign up for a CT online casino or online sportsbook

The apps you need are in the App Store or Google Play Store, depending on whether your device uses the Android operating system or iOS. Search for the casino or sportsbook by name. Then, download and install the appropriate app(s).

At that point, just follow the on-screen instructions for registering a new account. When signing up for a new online gaming account, you will need to input the following details:

  • Full name
  • Final four digits of you Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Contact number
  • Address

Connecticut online casino/sports betting deposit methods

After the sportsbook verifies your account, you’ll also need to fund it. In Connecticut, you can use a variety of different deposit methods. Those include:

  • ACH payments from a checking or savings account
  • Credit cards
  • Debit cards
  • Gift cards
  • Prepaid cards
  • Third-party wallets like PayPal
  • Wire transfers

The initial deposit is when you can take advantage of some of the operators’ best offers.

For example, FanDuel Sportsbook and Mohegan Sun Casino are offering new players welcomes bonuses worth up to $1,000.

FanDuel offers for new casino and sports betting customers in CT

The best part of these deals is that if you’re new to both Mohegan Sun Casino and FanDuel Sportsbook, you can take advantage of both offers.

There is a separate app for those who are only interested in casino play, or you can access both products in the FanDuel app.

Casino users can take advantage of FanDuel’s welcome offer. After you make your deposit, play whatever casino games you like during the first 24 hours, and if you end with a net loss, FanDuel will reimburse your account for any losses up to $1,000. You’ll receive the refund in bonus money, meaning you’ll have to play with it (i.e., you cannot withdraw it), but whatever you win with it is yours to keep.

On the sportsbook side, FanDuel is offering customers a bonus first bet.

Again, the maximum value is $1,000. After your initial deposit clears, place a bet you like on any event. If the sportsbook grades it a loss, you’ll get site credit equal to your wager or $1,000, whichever is lower.

While all these gaming options are exciting for those in Connecticut, the expansion is still in progress.

Retail sports betting in CT still unfinished

While there is a temporary DraftKings Sportsbook at Foxwoods Casino and a temporary FanDuel Sportsbook at Mohegan Sun Casino, the permanent locations are still undergoing renovations.

The casino properties hope to open the finished permanent locations in the near future.

It’s also unclear exactly when any of the CT Lottery’s 15 retail betting locations will open in the state. The Lottery says three locations are ready to go and are simply awaiting regulatory approval. Those are:

  • Bobby V’s in Stamford
  • Bobby V’s in Windsor Locks
  • Winners in New Haven

Seven other Sportech locations should be ready with new lottery kiosks by the end of the month. Again, however, this all depends on when the CT Dept. of Consumer Protection will issue the necessary licenses.

For today, though, Connecticuters can now get in on blackjack deals and bet on sporting events online legally from anywhere in the state. Connecticut online casinos and sportsbooks are live.
